5 Ways to Make Your IG Story Pop

With so much noise coming at consumers and followers on a continual basis, trying to stand out can be a challenge. From content calendars to ad spend, live videos, and more it can be hard to create consistent and eye-catching information for followers with all your other workload. So, we’ve combined a list of our favorite ways to mix up your Instagram stories without taking up your whole day.

Tips to up your IG Story Game:

Up Your Font Color Game

You no longer have to stick to just the standard color options that IG provides when you use text within your stories. Simply click on the drawing pen icon. Touch any color by holding your finger over it and viola! It’s the perfect way to create stories on the go or stay consistent with your branding when you have text within your videos.

Pro Tip: You can ombre your fonts by selecting all the text, holding one thumb on a color in the palette, and holding the other thumb on the text cursor. Then, slide both fingers simultaneously to the left to change the letter colors.

Add Pizazz With New Fonts

While IG now offers 9 fonts to choose from, did you know that you can import fonts?

Here’s how:

Make sure your internet browser is open in a tab.

Open the Instagram app, and go to Stories.

Select (but not upload) the photo to share.

Go to your browser and open a website called CoolSymbol.com.

Select the “Fancy Text” option and type your text. It will automatically

transform in multiple fonts.

Scroll down to select one.

Click Copy to save the text to your clipboard.

Go back to your Instagram app – find the Stories draft.

Select the text icon (“Aa”), tap, and hold on the screen where the

blinking cursor and click “paste.”

Optimize Your GIF Game

If you don’t want to hassle with the time to add new fonts or change, font colors, GIFs are the perfect way to add movement to a static IG story. You can even check out our GIFs by searching @leindesigns.mn in the GIF bar.

Hashtag-ify It

You didn’t think hashtags were just for standard posts did you? Hashtags work in stories with the same theory as in static posts and explore tabs. So, optimize your story with at least three hashtags.

Pro Tip: Hide your hashtags by making them blend into the background with font color changes.

Jump into an App

There are plenty of apps out there that we could point you to depending on your needs. Search your app store to find the one that best suits your needs and price point. But, if we had to give suggestions, Canva, VSCO, GoDaddy Studio, and Union would be on the list. They have plenty of structured templates for a jumping-off point or to create something brand new easily that matches your brand’s standards in seconds.
