Finding your aesthetic groove online can be as difficult as developing your logo and website. With a higher volume of images and graphics, determining what posts look like on brand can be challenging. But, taking time to ensure you have a consistent, high-quality aesthetic online is an important part of social marketing.
We’re here to help with 6 things to keep in mind in finding that vision.
1. Post What You Know
Ultimately, your business should be putting out content that interests you. If you’re passionate about something, that will translate into each of your posts online. Your brand will be successful if you put your enthusiasm and passion into everything you write and create.
2. Pick a Color Scheme or Two
If you haven’t already determined your color scheme in your brand guide, now is the time. Having a main gradient of colors allows for more flexibility and creates cohesion in designing of posts. But, ultimately your post should have a main color scheme that followers will immediately relate to as your brand. For instance, we stick to an array of three gradients of orange, teal and pink.

3. Stick to the Same Editing Process
Be consistent in your process of editing photos. If you have a darker gradient, your image edits should follow suit. It helps keep your color scheme and branding consistent across all digital mediums.
4. Double, Triple Check Captions
Make sure you are constantly reading and re-reading your captions or blog posts (not just to catch any spelling or grammatical errors) so you can make sure each post sounds like the same person wrote it. If every post is different and sounds disconnected, your business will have trouble branding itself as one cohesive team. You can read more about finding your brand’s tone on our blog.
5. Don’t Get Font Heavy
We’ve all seen the 1990s Word Art galore fliers, and there is a reason they went out of style. Having too many fonts can make your graphics and website hard to read, and follow and not aesthetically pleasing. Have a selection of fonts noted in your branding guide and where they should be applied.
Hopefully, these tips help guide you along the way to finding your brand’s aesthetic online. But, if you need a helping hand, we’re here to help. We can set up templates on Canva or Adobe cloud to get your social up, running, and looking like a rock star.
