Your Social Media Checklist

Whether you’re a social media guru or just starting out, having a daily, weekly, and monthly checklist helps to keep you on target for all your goals.

Daily

  • Reply to everyone Comments, dms, mentions. Replying even with a simple emoji shows that your brand is listening and engaged in what the audience has to say.

  • Monitor for keywords/hashtags Dive into what’s trending and see how you can work it into your content schedule/strategy. It’s a great way to stay current and your brand will have a higher chance of getting seen by followers.

  • Schedule your updates You’ve already gotten approval on posts for the day, week, or month, it’s the perfect time to post them across all your channels and integrate them into your stories.

  • Curate content to share Start designing, drafting, and creating content to share in your stories, especially videos for either that day or for the future.

  • Engage through hashtags Search trending hashtags and see if anything that matches your brand is something you could share, especially if it’s follower-curated.

  • Follow new accounts Following new accounts that are like-minded is a great way to organically grow your following. Take just five minutes a day to dive into this easy task.

Weekly

  • Engage with brands and partners Take time to quickly reach out to brands and partners you want to work with or are currently working with. Do they have anything new you could share or anything upcoming you could be a part of?

  • Check in on your goals Just take a peek to see how you’re doing on your weekly or monthly goals and what you could adjust in your strategy to reach them.

  • Brainstorm with a strategy session Take time to get inspired with new content, ad ideas, or videos for next month by following trending hashtags, exploring posts, or discovering new brands/influencers that you love.

  • Revisit & update ads Take time to check in on your ads. You’re spending money on them and need to make sure that they’re being seen as much as possible to the right audience. Otherwise, you’re just posting, ghosting, and wasting moo-lah!

Monthly

  • Check your stats and analytics Each month, you should be pulling analytics across all social platforms and reviewing them. Determine what’s working, the best times to post, and what to post based on follower engagement and shares. It’s crucial to have some numbers to back up your strategy ideas.

  • Perform a social media audit With constant changes in social media, it’s a great time to double-check that all your profiles are filled out and match your brand standards. If you need some help on where to start, check out our how-to blog.

  • Revisit strategy It’s the perfect time to revisit what your brand should be focusing on in terms of the what, when, and how of content since you’ve just analyzed the results from last month.

  • Revisit goals & set new goals Evaluate how your goals were met last month and set new ones. Be sure they are achievable and measurable.

  • Create content for the next month Content creation is never over, so it’s best to get a head start on posts ahead of time to reduce the scramble and possible mistakes. You can always add more content as it comes through, but having a draft plan on ideas is always best, especially for holidays or promotions.

  • Experiment with new ad campaigns Start brainstorming campaign ideas for the upcoming month or A/B testing some new ad campaigns to see what should be running next month.
